Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

The café is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays. It averages 50 customers a week and serves members of the community such as individuals, walking groups, Carers and their clients and clients from a local psychiatric hospital. It offers a friendly and supportive environment where people make friends. It is particularly effective in providing new friendships for those individuals living alone and who are otherwise socially isolated.

Food and drink are offered at low prices to again support those on low incomes. The café has also provided work experience for individuals to help with employability skills and to increase their confidence and selfesteem. Barista training is provided for all volunteers and work experience individuals

The café has a regular group of approximately 12 volunteers and also has a group of ad hoc volunteers to call upon when needed.
