## **2. Structure, governance and management**

Disabled Christians Fellowship Sidcup is a Charitable Incorporated DRAFT Organisation (registered 25 January 2018). The charity is managed by a Board of Trustees, with roles of Chairperson, Safety Officer and Treasurer designated.

Dave Cole stepped down as Chairperson, and Elle Cole as Trustee, in January 2022. We are thankful for their faithful service over so many years.

Trustee meetings are held at least three times a year, and an Annual General Meeting is held with the membership in January each year. An AGM was not held in January 2022 as we were unable to resume our meetings following the coronavirus pandemic until 9[th] April 2022.

The Board of Trustees is authorised to appoint new trustees to fill vacancies through the resignation or death of an existing trustee.

## **3. Financial review**

The annual accounts were presented to the trustees on 8.6.23. DCF received the final payment of a legacy in January 2022. We have made donations to three organisations that reflect DCF’s commitment to support those in need due to disability and one donation to an individual with particular need due to disability. We have continued to support a child through Compassion. At the period end there were unrestricted funds of £120,072.33 carried forward.

## **4. Public benefit statement**

The trustees have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the commission in exercising their powers or duties.

## **5. Objectives and activities**

The objective of DCF Sidcup is to relieve the needs of people with disabilities and other special needs, their families and their carers. This is particularly by, but not exclusively, the provision of:

- Social activities, friendship and companionship

- Financial support

- Respite care and holidays

## **6. Achievements and performance**

We have been very pleased to be able to resume our monthly meetings with our vital team of helpers. The usual format of the meeting is entertainment followed by tea and cakes. We held a Jubilee party in June, and had a fish and chip lunch in July when we were able to make a presentation to Dave and Elle Cole to thank them for their huge contribution to DCF over many years.

Financial support has been given in line with our commitment to support DRAFT those in need due to disability and our Compassion sponsorship has continued.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of Disabled

3

Christian Fellowship Sidcup ('the charity') for the year ended 31 August 2022.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report**

As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the charity's financial statements carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or

2. the financial statements do not accord with those records; or

3. the financial statements do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair' view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a DRAFT proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
