To prevent cardiac death of young people (aged 14-351 in the South
Wesl of England {Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorsetl. In particular
but not exclusively by presentations in schools. businesses and sports
clubs that raise awareness of cardiac risk and cardiac screening, as well
as the saving of lives through the provision of emergency lifesaving
equipment and Ilfesaving training.

Community CPR and AED tralnlng.
The charity visits. communtthes, primary schools, secondary school5,
universities and sports clubs and tailors its sessions to meet the needs of
large variety of age groups. The charity's basic CPRJAED session lasts
for 60 minutes and can Irain up to 35 people al onè time using individual
manikins. The charity explains how a defibrillator works and us8s its
IrainiTrJ defibrillator to role play a life-like situation of someone having
cardiac arrest. The charity also provides infomation about the charrty
and cardiac issues affecting young people at the sessions.

Provlslon of Public Access Deflbrlllatorn In places of need.
The Charity provides public ar￿$5 defibrillators in places of need
togelher with appropriate signage. This can be local sports clubs, busy
locations, and schools for example. The charty tries to ensure that all
defibrillators are available lo any member of the public 241T where
possible. It is also ensure$ that all the defibrillators are registered with
the South West Ambulan￿ Foundation Trust (now 'The Circuit,
administered by the BHF) $0 that people are directed lo them when
phoning 999 in an emergency.
Promotion of heart scre8nlng in young people.
The ¢harrty irrforms young people about the risks of sudden cardiac death
and encourages them to attend heart screening event5 run by the chaTIIy
Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). Th6 charrty's website has a link to
CRY'S registration page and it actively promotes upcoming screening
events being held In the SoLrth West. The charity a150 airns to fund some
of Ihese screening sessions.
In setting their objectives the trustees have given careful consideration lo
the Charity commission's guidance on public benefit.

6994 people.
Public Ae¢ess Dellbrlllators - Durtng the period the charity provlded 48
PAD'S to places in need.
Heart Scroenlngs- Promoted screenings held in south west. Booked
Jays Aim CRY screening event for October 2024.
Other achievements-
Commenced our 'Free Cabinets for Schools. sGheme in January 2024-
providing free defibrillator cabinets to house go￿ fvnded defibrillators
provided to schools in order lo make them publidy accessible

charity ('the Trust.) for the year ended 3110312024.
