Section D Achievements and performance

During 2021 we were able to restart our main church activities once the Summary of the main COVID restrictions lifted, we returned to meeting outside in our forest achievements of the charity school setting once a month and in a café space once a month. during the year The Community Fridge needed a new location and so was moved to a local council hall, where we now give away on average 250kg of food a week to on average 55 households, this has become a huge lifeline to many families whilst also helping tackle food waste and build community. The food we give away comes from a mixture of places, the bulk comes from Fareshare SW scheme, with some coming from local supermarkets and the rest coming from the local food bank and donations from the public.

We were also able to reopen our community café towards the end of 2021 which is once a week on a Tuesday, offering affordable food and a pay it forward scheme to help those who can’t afford it. This is growing steadily and beginning to gain momentum again after COVID.

We are working closely with the council and the local primary school to set up a community Garden so that we can help the community learn to grow food, cook food and support each other. This is still early days but we are excited to see this progress.
