To promote the well-being of residents in Milton Keynes, hereafter referred to as the area of benefit, with particular emphasis on individuals of Bangladeshi origin, regardless of gender, political views, religious beliefs, or any other affiliations. 

This will be achieved by fostering collaboration between local residents, authorities, voluntary organisations, and other groups to enhance educational opportunities and provide recreational and leisure activities, ultimately improving community life.

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

I am honored to present this Trustee Report on behalf of the Milton Keynes Bangladeshi Association for the fiscal year 2023/2024. **Overview:** This year has proven to be a challenging one for our organisation as we continue to navigate the effects of the post-COVID environment while dealing with the deeply saddening loss of one of our senior trustees, MD Elias Miah Motin. His leadership, dedication, and invaluable contributions to our community will be sorely missed, and his legacy will continue to inspire us in our mission. Despite these difficulties, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to the Bangladeshi community in Milton Keynes. Our efforts to deliver meaningful services and support have continued to grow, adapting to the evolving needs of our members. The resilience shown by the community has been truly remarkable, and we have worked tirelessly to provide assistance and guidance throughout the year. **Service Delivery** : In 2023/2024, we successfully hosted a major football tournament, which not only brought the community together but also helped raise much-needed funds for the Baytul Ilm Islamic Centre. This event was a huge success, fostering camaraderie among participants while supporting an essential cause that is deeply rooted in our community. We also organised various community-building events, including a memorable trip to the seaside, providing families with an opportunity to relax and enjoy quality time together. In addition, we held a large social gathering, which was graced by the presence of the Mayor and Mayoress of Milton Keynes. Their attendance and support highlighted the importance of our work and reaffirmed the association’s central role in the local community. **Engaging the Next Generation** : Looking forward, a key priority for our organisation is to actively engage with the next generation of young people within our community. We recognise that the needs and challenges faced by today’s youth are constantly evolving, and we are committed to understanding these concerns more fully. To this end, we will be focusing on creating a range of tailored programmes and sessions to assist with education, employment, and tutoring. By offering mentorship and academic support, we aim to empower our youth to realise their potential and thrive in their academic and professional pursuits. We believe that investing in our younger generations is crucial for the long-term strength and sustainability of our community. **Changes in the Management Committee:** This year has also seen some significant changes to the structure of our Management Committee. In order to respond effectively to the shifting needs of our members, we have taken the opportunity to introduce fresh leadership and expertise into our organisation. A new working Executive Committee has been appointed to oversee the day-to-day operations of the association until the next general elections. This team will bring innovative ideas, renewed energy, and a stronger focus on expanding our services to better serve the community. The new committee is already in the process of refining our internal operations, improving our outreach efforts, and identifying new opportunities for collaboration with external partners. We are confident

that these changes will help us operate more efficiently and increase our capacity to support those in need. 

**Digital Transformation** – Creating a More Dynamic and Resourceful Website: As part of our strategic vision to enhance the way we connect with the community; we are embarking on a project to recreate our association's website. The aim is to develop a more dynamic, userfriendly, and resourceful digital platform that will serve as a central hub for information, services, and engagement. This improved website will offer easier access to updates on events, programs, and activities, as well as serve as a valuable resource for members seeking guidance and support. 

We envision this online platform as a vital tool to further our mission, promote transparency, and foster stronger connections with our community. The website will also enable us to share success stories, highlight important initiatives, and offer a channel for receiving feedback from the public. 

**Collaborating with Local Mosques and Schools** : We are proud to be actively working with local mosques and schools to promote inclusion and social harmony across Milton Keynes. Our goal is to create more opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds to come together, share experiences, and strengthen their ties within the wider community. 

Through our collaborations, we are working to organise additional social opportunities and events that encourage greater community participation. These initiatives not only provide valuable spaces for social interaction but also serve as a means to educate and raise awareness of the importance of inclusion, respect, and mutual support within our society. 

**Future Focus** : As we look to the future, we remain committed to building on the progress we have made, ensuring that our association continues to be a beacon of support and solidarity for the Bangladeshi community in Milton Keynes. Our primary focus will be on delivering vital services and expanding our outreach efforts to meet the evolving needs of our members. 

We are also actively exploring new partnerships with local businesses, educational institutions, and voluntary organisations to enhance the resources available to our community. By fostering collaboration, we aim to create a more connected, supportive, and resilient community for all. 

**Conclusion** : I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated staff, volunteers, and partners for their unwavering commitment during what has been a challenging year. The resilience, strength, and spirit of our community have been evident in everything we have achieved together. 

We remain resolute in our mission to serve and support the Bangladeshi community in Milton Keynes and look forward to continuing this journey in the years to come. With optimism, we anticipate another year of progress, accomplishment, and meaningful impact.
