The trustees are pleased to present their report for Inspire Bucks for the financial period
01.04.2020 to 31.3.2021.
IntrodurtSon to The Bernwode Community Bus
The Bernwode Communtty Bus is a registered CIO charity which was registered on 22nd Jan
2018. The charFty's rnain purpose is to service the people of Aylesburyvale and surrounding
villages to provide a community bus service which satisfies a number of aims and assists
with the elderly. sports clubs and isolated people due to a lack of transport opportunities.
The charity also has the aim to assist with the prevention of social isolation in communities
by allowing them to remain connerted.

The charity does not issue grants and does not have a policy on social investment
Volunteers contribute time to drive the vehicles on the trips as required.
Main Achievements
The charty through the management of a community transport minibus has enabled the
charity to provide a continuous link for the elderly and disabled in order to maintsin a
connection to society around them.
We operate for a number of local organisations such as elderly day centres. scouts, brownies
as well as a range of local organisations such as Wl and sports clubs such as cricket and
football.

Key objectives and activities
Communlty transport
Until the pandemic struck we continued to provide community transport servFces for the
residents and groups as required.
We also combined forces with BUCKINGHAM AREA RUIiAL TRANSPORT during covid which
offered a second base of operations and rnore importantly a second vehide to create a fleet.
Covld
Covid and the pandemic was a challenge for communtty transport as a lot of the groups we
operated for stood down and were not running.
The trustees were very keen for the charity to play a part in the relief effort and food
sustainability during the crisis became a key part. . bernie's food appeal . was launched and the
team of trustees and volunteers collerted food to assist the food bank throughout the whole
appeal.
This was very Successful and even received a commendation from the prime minister
Finanaal Review
We have made a small profit of £7426 which enables us to start to create a ￿SerVe policy.
The agreed reser¥es policy is £5(1￿1 which is the equivalent of three months current opertÉng
costs. As rental increase at the end of Covid we will look to review the reserve POSFtson and
increase the numbers as required

Strurturep governance and management
Governance and trustee appointments
One of the trustees were appointed as per the charity's registered date.
Grahame Pusey and Angela Macpherson resigned in 2020. Warren Whyte was appointed
as a trustee on 27th November 2020 and PatTTck Fealey was appointed as a trustee on 17th
February 2022
The trustees meet regularly and at least once per quarter, with ad-hoc meetings convened as
required. During the trustee quarterly meetings. the trustees review the charivs finances, as
well as discussing progress and deliveries against its core charity purpose. All major new
actions and future strategic decisions are defined and agreed by the trustees during these
meetin85.
All appointed trustee5 have been land future appointments will be) gNen a copy of the
charity's constitution. They are also informed ab￿t, and provided with weblinks to. the
Charity Commission's webstte and guidance outlining the role and responsibilities of a trustee
and public benefit.
Trustee re-appolntment
Any new trustee must be appointed by a resolution passed at a properly- convened meeting
of the charity trustees.
Operational management and organisation
The Bernwode bus employ5 a coordinator was employed on a consultsncy basis to support
and manage bookings as required.
The trustees manage the day to day operational and financial management of the charity as
well as managing partnerships and other activities. such as fundraising. All major financial
decisions are agreed and revIev￿d between the trustees before being actioned.
