OBJECTIVES AND AIMS

To relieve either generally or individually persons resident in the village of Hempton, in the county of Oxfordshire, who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress. This may include the provision of items such as furniture, bedding, clothing, food, fuel, or heating appliances. It may also provide facilities such as a supply of tools, books or payment of fees for instruction or examination or travelling expenses so as to help them to earn their living.

Our purpose

To relieve either generally or individually persons resident in the village of Hempton, in the county of Oxfordshire, who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress in particular by the provision of furniture, bedding, clothing, food, fuel, heating appliances, tools, books, payment of fees for instruction or examination or travelling expenses as the trustees shall think fit.

What we support

Size of grants

Most of our grants are up to £100 but we might consider making a larger grant if there were funds available.

We take into account the amount raised towards a project as well as the project’s objectives and the extent of deprivation in the community concerned.

Process

Applications must be made in writing to the Vicar of Deddington . Applications will be considered at the next trustee meeting. The trustee’s decision is final and no further correspondence on an application will be considered once a decision has been given.

The trustees may require evidence that the grant given has been spent in accordance with the purpose in the grant request.

Contribution by volunteers

Other than the trustees – none.

Achievements and Performance

In this period the charity has been quiet and has received no requests for support.

No additional fundraising has been done.

Financial Review.

A tenancy review was conducted and the tenancy has been rolled-over to a periodic tenancy. Upon advice from Law & Fiennes Land Agents, the rent remains the same at £750 per year.

The NS&I account has proven unsatisfactory. An account with the Co-Operative bank was opened (Summer 2020) and all funds transferred. The overdue rent and the rent for this reporting period was received. The expenses relating to the foundation of the Charity were agreed and paid.
