| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | 1)We have established a school in the area of Chakswari-(Mirpur /A.K)which has now been running for about 4 years. It is a 5 classroom school providing education from Reception year upto year 5 of the Pakistani education system. Currently we have about 140 children who attend this school. We are slowly improving resources and facilities, which include computer classes, internet and more use of spoken English. This has been our main focus throughout this period as we wish to make a real impact into the lives of people. During the pandemic- studies have been difficult as internet access is not readily available to the poor. We have maintained some minimal contact with students on a rotational basis as per local government guidelines. Teachers fees have continued- as this will also help alleviate the local poverty 2) As in previous years, we continue to feed around 150-200 people once a month -the food, ready cooked by a local vendor, for which we pay, is brought onto the school premises where it is distributed to the children and any local poor person. During the pandemic-we created a list of about 50 poor households to whom we delivered essential food items. |
3)We work closely with other charities – currently KADECT (British based charity)— which runs a school for Deaf/Dumb children in the local vicinity -we pay for 2 classroom assistants that were needed to support the 30 children that are taught there. This has continued as previous year. 4)We have just obtained permission for the use of an arable plot of land (leased by usfree currently) -we aim to create a Donkey/Animal sanctuary for wounded/sick animals. However, we need to do further research as to how to go about this using British standards. This is currently on hold due to the pandemic. 5) we have purchased dialysis machines and sent them over—six machines have now reached Pakistan and are in storage. We are working closely with local nursing and medical teams to try and establish a Dialysis centre. Things have been delayed due to the Pandemichowever slow progress is being made.We are in discussion with Medics/Technicians and have chosen a site in the city of Haripur for the setting up of this Dialysis centre.
