2022-23 Review
----- End of picture text -----

Thank you to the Vine for your continued giving over the financial year 22/23. Our vision this year was “To be with `Jesus’. Your generosity has meant that we have continued to impact our local community with the gospel and provide a space for ourselves and others to be together and worship God.

Vine Spaces

Throughout the period of April to December 2022 we continued to rent East Dorset Tennis Club for our Sunday morning services. We also hired multiple other buildings for some Sundays (when the tennis club wasn't available) and also for our monthly prayer meetings including St Peters church hall and Poole Christian Fellowships building in Lagland Street, Poole.

From January 2023 we started to hire Lagland Street on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays of the month, and carried on hiring the tennis club on the 1st and 3rd Sundays. This was hard at times for the church going between two dierent buildings on Sundays but we persevered and felt it was right to be in a much larger and better building as much as possible in the hope that in the future we could use it more often.

We carried on our work on Turin moor at the ‘Vine Hub’ by providing a space for the community and a weekly ’Tea and Toast’. These have been successful and always has a regular group of parents and children who enjoy the community, chat and refreshments.

- - April 2022 March 2023 What we did as a church.

In April 2022 our kids and youth worker Emma hosted a kids Easter party at her home, the children made easter baskets, went on an Easter egg hunt and had hot dogs and marshmallows.

As a church we also collected Easter eggs for the Turlin moor Food bank and the Hub - we had a very successful donation providing over 100 easter eggs for the families on Turlin Moor.

We had a number of ‘special’ services throughout April and May, we hosted a church breakfast service at St Peters church hall in April, and 2 weeks later we had a baptism service followed by a picnic and a visit from the ice cream van, enjoyed by all. Later in May we had dedication service at Corfe Mullen Village Hall (we had to hire a larger space due to so many more visitors) We dedicated 3 children from the Vine and celebrated afterwards with cake and lunch.

In June we celebrated the Queens Jubilee with a few days of prayer meetings and later, on June 25th we had our amazing yearly ‘Church Day Out’. The day was a great success - David Craig gave us some great teaching, we invited

Citygate church to come and lead worship and we even had a fish and chip van arrive to provide everyone with a delicious lunch. The afternoon was spent playing games and enjoying one another's company in the beautiful setting of Morden Village hall.

In July, the youth enjoyed a movie night social at Emma and Dave House, and at the end of July our Pastor Tim took a sabbatical for 7 weeks. This was a time of refreshing and listening to God about His vision and the future of the Vine church.

In September the youth had another social evening at Emma and Daves - we want to thank Emma and Dave for their hospitality over their time in leading kids and youth at the Vine - they have opened their home up many times and welcomed us in.

In November we welcomed Paul and Liz Lynch to the church - they spent 4 days in Poole when they met with and encouraged the leaders and also came and joined us on Sunday 6th November when Paul shared a powerful message and then they both spent time praying with various people after the service.

In December the church helped contribute towards our Christmas meal at Brewhouse Kitchen, Poole. We had a good number show up and enjoy a great evening buet and social time. Later this month we hosted our annual Carol service at St Peters Church hall. We had many people visit us and the evening went well. As a church we also gave gifts and cards to several members to help support and bless them over the Christmas period.

At the end of 2022 we said goodbye to Emma our children and youth worker. We want to thank her for everything she did over the time she was with us. She had an impact on many of our children and youth with the teaching and social events she organised and led.

In January 2023 Becci was employed by the Vine to help us with pastoral care, women's ministry and administration. She works 16 hours a week.

In February the men enjoyed a great golf evening at Mulligans in Bournemouth, this was organised by Dick who did a great job gathering a good number of men for a healthy bit of competition!

In March 2023 we celebrated all the women in our church and many visitors too as we hosted an afternoon tea at Lagland Street. We enjoyed a lot of cake and scones and even a quiz!

This year we have tried our best to be faithful to a faithful God. Thank you for partnering with us for the building of Gods church and the sake of the gospel.
