Owen Sheers is donating 50•/0 of royaities to DBW Charity in perpe￿Ity.
In eonjunclion w'ith the release of the b￿k and the intercst in the charity and story's genesis, the founders took the
opportuniiy to r¢fresh the charity website. It was felt that after 6 years it was lime for a natural segue of the family's
personal story from the foregroun(L and to move focus to encornpa5s a broader audience whilst maintaining a gentle
approach to rnre childhood canccr. All development was provided FOC by Bristol based Impact IT Solutions.
The book was chosen to feature in The Children's Bookshow at Warn¥ick Arts Centr¢, where the event was attended
by over 500 children. A fully interactive perforniance/woikshop was given by Owen and Helen, and ea¢h ¢hild in
attendance was given a copy of Drew, Moo and Bunny. Too.
A smaller ev¢nt wa5 a150 planned in Drew's hoTne low￿ Talgarth, where the local libray setvices orgonised a book
launch. Its aim, to introduce local thildren to the btx)k and help pr<Mnote its release.
To Coincide with the iK)ok rele&8e and CCAM and to raise awaT¢ne5s of we ¢hildhood cancer, a local fund-r&i5ing
concert and raffle wa5 organised at Theatr Brycheinio& Bre¢on. The con¢¢rt featured local amateur theatriLal
groups and West End perfornieJ3, all of whom kindly donated their time FOC. A Pri￿ Draw was run alongside this
event over the month of September. Together the events raised just under £7000.
Following the autumn fundraising activiiies, the charity embarked upon its annua] NYE sk Fun Run. This years
eyent was a sell out. with 150 ti¢ket$ sold. lis success has made it a much loved community event and a feature on
the social calendar.
Other events throughout the year, organiscd by individuals who with to Sup&￿ DBW Charity have included,
Amsterdam Mardthon, Cosy Cafe Quiz Night - Hay, Santa's Fun Run - Hay and The Bryni¢h Barn Bum's Nigh¢-
Brecon.
Fundraising for this period has allowed the charity to make another donation of £15,000 to The Chordoma
Foundation's Paediatric Programme. This ensur&s that the tharity continues to help fund cutting edge re￿arCh into
new treatm¢nts with a more targeted, holistic approach.
We feel it has been another successful year and the charity continues to fulfil its charitable objectives.
