Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Circumstance due to the pandemic have curtailed our activities through the 2021/22 period too. Going forward continue to support Tushinde Children’s Trust, in particular for care packages for the children we supported. We were keen to support similar work in the UK and were able to do so by opening up our work to Ukrainian refugee work. We confirm that the Charity Trustees have had regard to the guidance on public benefit.

Section D Achievements and performance

Our work during the 2021-22 COVID pandemic centred on supporting Summary of the main local people in need rather than fund raising. achievements of the charity We continued to fund Tushinde to provide Fi Day Care, however, this day during the year care model changed from funding group care to funding family care packages due to COVID restrictions and risks in the slums. We led work to rescue and resettle vulnerable child and mother refugees locally and worked with Buckinghamshire Council to do so. We supported work on health and wellbeing of the refugees by aligning our work, fundraising and support activities with other registered charity linked to Bucks County Council. We ran a community bike project finding, fixing and rehoming more than 50 bikes to Ukrainian refugees children locally. We also developed a project to provide assistance to settle, to work and to school for Ukrainian refuges settling locally. Grants from the council and fund raising from sponsored events enabled us to do this. We also continued with the knitting squares programme and linked to Baby Basics in Milton Keynes. The shift to supporting UK need during COVID has enabled us to continue to deliver support in line with our charity constitution.
