We are a local LGBT charity based in Eastbourne And focus on bringing equality and diversity to the town and surrounding areas.
Objects: The Charity’s Objects (‘the Objects’) Arethe Promotion Of Equality And Diversity For The Public Benefit In Eastbourne And Thesurrounding Area By:-(a) In Particular, But Not Exclusively, Promoting And Staging An Annual LGBT Festival Andevents To Promote Equality And Diversity;(b) Cultivating A Sentiment In Favour Of Equality And Diversity In Particular Through Celebratingthe Diversity Of The LGBT Community In The Area Of Benefit;(c) Uniting The LGBT Community, Together With Their Families And Friends, So They Can Feel Safe,welcomed And Proud To Be Themselves At Events;(d) Advancing Education And Raising General Awareness Among The Public About The Issues Andchallenges Facing The Lives Of The LGBT Community In The Area Of Benefit;lgbt Stands For Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual And Transgender People, And Refers To Sexualorientation And Gender Re-Assignment, Both Protected Characteristics Under The Equality Act2010 (http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/equalities/equality-Act/).[nothing In This Constitution Shall Authorise An Application Of Theproperty Of The Charity For Purposes, Which Are Not Charitable Inaccordance With Section 7 Of The Charities And Trustee Investment(scotland) Act 2005 And/or Section 2 Of The Charities Act (northernireland) 2008.
