I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts ofthe above charity ("the Trust")
for the year ended 31st December 2024.
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts
in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Acg?.
I report in re5pert of my examination of the Trust's accounts carrted out under section 145
of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applic2ble
Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145{5)(b) ofthe Act.

The oble¢ts of the CIO are to presetve and protect the physi¢al and mental good health of
women and young people at risk of sexual exploitation in Sussex and beyond, and relieving the
needs of such women and young people by pmvldlng support In partlajlar, but not exduslvely
by provlding outregch and support services.
Summary of the maln activities
The organisation GuThently foGuses its activiltes on providiro support to women 8xperFencing
sexual exploitation through thè sex industry, in particular by the provision of charitable
assistance including direct support through our specialist outreach seNt￿, The Esther Prolect,
working in partnership lo improve access to a range of specialist seNi¢es and providing training
to partner organlsations. All activlll88 aim to increase safety and reduce risk of harm lo the
individual, decrease social isolation and improve the general wellbeing and outcomes of the
individual.
The purpose of the charity is to work towards a future free from sexual exploitation. This brings
beneflt to the public as a whole through supporting women at fisk, implementing models of best
practice and sharing thls knowledge wlth othor agencies and indlviduals locally 8nd nationally.

N￿reaCh {Onllne Outreach)
We have conducted regular weekly online outreach to women advertising as independent
escorts. We contaGled 231 women for the first time to introduce our serv1￿. The Esther Project
ITEP), providing links to safety information and telephone support 2nd 176 womèn with
follow-ups.
Netreach is targeted across coastal West Sussex and remains a signtficant source of referrals
with 280/0 of new service users in 2024 entering our service through our online outreach in 2024.
Overall, 40% of the women supported through 1-1 contact Ihls year, were independent escorts
who Self-￿ferred Ihrough Netreach.

In addition to support from outreach workers. two women recelved additional befrlending
support over 8 8esslons with a lolal support lime of 13 hours. Befriending helps to reducè
isolation and providès additional opportunity for listening support from tralned volunteers.
PraGtlcal Support
We provide free wellbeing packs including safely alamis, condoms, sanltary Items, pregnancy
tests, toiletries and TEP service, safely and sexual health infomialion to women we support
directly and through local partner services. We dlstrlbuted 42 standard free well-being packs
and 52 luxury free wellboing packs (including luxury toiletries and cosmetics donaled by the
Whitman Group) In 2024 along with 40 emergency food parcels, 22 emérgency toifetry packs.
13 Christmas food hampers, 16 £25 sUpenMa￿eI vouchers, 44 Food Bank referrals. 62 mini

In 2024 we continued to expand our in-house counselling servlce in response to demand from
services users who were looking lor non-judgemenlal mental health support and access to
talking therapies ffom counsellors who have an understanding of sexual exploitation within the
sex industry. We partnored with a second counsellor specialising in EMDR and who had
slgnificanl experienee of supporting women with trauma.
Throughout 2024 we provlded 160 counselling sessions to 12 differènt women helplng them to
recover from the Impact of abuse, stigma and violence.

We reached 73 women through partner drop-in's, part¢culaAy Worthlng Women's Probation
Breakfast. Littlehampton Probation Hub, BTighton Women's Centre at Turning Tides, Safe in
Sussex Freedom Programme, Broadwater Community Hub and UK Harvest.
INe dellvered our sertes of 6 well-being workshops on 5 occasions lo 31 women through
Worthing Probation, Broadwaler Community Hub, Stonepillow Homelessn8S8 charity. and both
Lilllehamplon and Worthlng Safe In Sussex venues Includlng topics of Boundad8s, Change and
Self-Esteem.

Preventative Measures
In line with our strategic objectlves for the year, we conducted extensive research into the harms
of pornography and also instructed th8 completion of a research paper into the links between
pornography and sex trafficking.
We used the research tr) write and pllol a workshop addressing the harms of pornography lo a
group of young adults in August. We used their feedback to further develop the workshop lo be
appropriate lo ils target audi8nc8 of 16-18 year olds, wilhin the church youth group setting. The

We also filed a report to Sussex Police having discovered online Indicators of a minor

In December we joined with both the Police and My Sister's House at the 16 days of Activism
roadshow in Chichester high street. promoting the work of YadalTEP and making new contacts.
A new referral was received as a result of our allendance.
We have a seal on both the Sussex Police Sex Working Forum, providing input from our
experience and helping to shape policy, and the Building Trust & Confidence sub-group, at
which we support service users lo share their experi8nces.

We deliver bespoke training to fronlline professionals aiming to rais& awareness of the complex
issue faGed by women in the sex industry, to beller equip staff to support women al risk and help
combat issues with stigma. Throughout 2024 we delivered 10 face to face and 11 online trainlng
sessions, training 259 delegates in total including.. 50 staff from the NHS integrated Care Board,
WSCC Social Work and Asslslanl Car@, Wosl SLtggex MIND, Emerging Futureg, Unlvurgity of
Sussex wellbeing team, Safehaven St Peters, Survivors Network, Youn9 Persons Shop,

We also delivered inlerviewslawareness r8islng sessions via a video interview to both Sl Mary's
Church. Broadwat8r in Fabiuary and Rede8m8r Church, Worthin9 In July.
Feedback from 66 trainees rated the quality of our Irairiing 8t 9 out of 10 and demonstrated a
62.9Q/o increa88 in confKlence to support women engaging in the sex industry as a result of our
training.

Future Planning
As a result of our annual stfalegy day, for staff and Trustees to explore the current and future
landscape of OLsr organisation and our operational context, we have seen that, since our
Inception, we have established our outreach work as 8 succinct project which we are confldent
will continu& to develop according lo need. Similarly our training offer lo professionals is well
established and continues lo be successfully requested and delivered. Therefor& w8 Gan safely
lum our attention lo developing and broadening the area of preventative measures, in terms of
educatlon. campaignlng and advoGaGy. This is both in response to requests from our partners,
educatlon lacililies, youth workers and the women and young people Ih9m$elves, as well as an

evidence-based development out of our research on Ihe links be￿een Ir8fficking and
F￿lographY.
We have r&developed our Strateglc Aims for 2025 to 2027.

Flnanclal Reviow and Reserves Pollcy
The year ended 31 st December 2024 recorded net receipts over payments of £9,986, of which
there was-£9,228 of receipts over payments In unrestricted funds and £19,214 of receipts ovor
payments in restricted fijnds. ThB closing cash balance stands at £112,934 of which £25,701 is
unreslrlcted general funds, £30,000 is unreslriGled general reseNes and £57,233 is reslrtcled.
By comparison, the year lo 31st December 2023 ended with a closing cash balan￿ of £102,948
of whi¢h £34.929 was unrestricted general funds, £30.000 was unrestr￿ted general reseNes
and £38.019 was restricted.
Yada is commilled to using its resources in pursuit of its charitable objectives.11 is also
committed lo maintaining a level of reserves that is prudent to meeting ongoing liabilities,
sufficient lo ensure that all servlce delivery commitments can be mét and to protect the
long-term future of operatlons. Yada's reserves pollcy seeks lo balance these priorities. The
Iruslees consider It prudent to maintain general reseNes at a level that represents
approximately 3 months expenditure of the charity. based on planned expenditure for that year.
As at 318t December 2024 general reserves were £30.000. The Board of Trustees regularly
monitors thelgvel of re8&rves.
