Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document
To advance the arts for the public benefit by the promotion of the art of classical music in England and Wales in particular, but not exclusively, including children and young musicians in rehearsal and performances.
OPA comprises a group of around 14 professional string players who individually or in small groups, visit schools and music centres to enthuse and encourage potential young musicians.
In cooperation with their teachers some of these young people are invited to rehearse and perform side by side with the professional players at a publically promoted concert. Other students from the schools or music centres attend these concerts, together with parents, friends and the general public, hence raising awareness and interest in classical music for the public benefit.
