were limited this year through
COVID which also Impacted
massively on the academic year In Naqia, aithough we continued
to fund
the salary ofthe Kindergarten
Headmistress
as well as puahasing
uniforms for the latest intake.|
||||During this quieter time we took time to discuss tlw best we could|
||||further support the children ofNaqia and their educational
development .
These discussions
took place with teaching staff, the School Principal at|
||||Naqia SDA Primary School and the Village Leadership Team.|
||||As a result ofthese discussions JBFFhas decided to fund the|
||||construction
ofa new building
consisting oftwo dassrooms. The first wiH|
||||become the new school library and the second a computer suite aiiowing|
||||the teachers and children to further develop their education
through|
||||digital means and allow access tothe internet for all.Weare also hoping
that the computer
room and laptops can be used to provide basic|
||||computer training etctothe wider population
in Naqia.|
||||We are hoping that ihe building
will be finished and opened
in the autumn|
||||of2(Q1.|
||||This facility will now help to build on the education that we have provided
at the outset through the Jack Berry Memorial
Kindergarten.
Itis my
intention to name the building after Semi Turaga who sadly passed away|
||||in Dec2020.Semi was the Village Chief and was hugely
instrumental
in|
||||the planning
and construction
ofthe Jack Berry Memorial
