Foodbank
The Foodbank Distribution Centre was open every Wednesday aftemcon this year.
We continue to both collect and distn.bute food to those who need it and it 19 a privilege
to be a part of helping individuals and familEs feed themselves. Each session takes a
team of 5 volunteers to run from a total team of 15 volunteers who take tums on a rota
basis. ThE year we provKled food for nearly 300 people in need.
Ainon Lunch Club
After 12 years of serving the elderly in OUT CJ)mmunity it was decKled to close our Lunch
Club. The team of volunteers who have seNed so faithfully and worked so hard are
themselves ageing and feel unable to continue the Lunch Club in its present format.
Over the years the Lunch Club has blessed many and we are so grateful to the
volunteers vtho made such an impact in providing ex￿lIent hot meals and a wam) and
safe environment where the elderty could socialise and relax. It is possible that a new
team of volunt*rs will step forward and start up a new Sty￿ Lunch Club in the future.
If so. we envisage this will be in a new simpler fomial that could indude serving
afternoon teas or soup and a roll. either fortnghtly or monthly. it remains to be seen.
Renew Wellbeing
The Renew Wellbeing session has been a resounding success. It is open to all and
we have various activities set up that people can choose to do or not do, and there's
athys a friendly welcome and a listening ear rf one is needed. Halfway through the
sessbon there k8 a time for prayer meditation which takes part in a side room and God
has been so faithful and brought the rtght words to say each vfftk. He has used the
sessions to really speak into people and their SrtUat￿ns. We average about 25-30
people each week and a number of people have commented that tt is the hNJhlight of
their V￿k.
Cuppa with a Copper
The South Wales Police continue to use our building for their community engagement
programme called 'cuppa with a copperf. The Poli￿ maintain a regular fortnightly drop
in wrthin our Wednesday Renew Wellbeing session. It is great to see the local police
take part in the wellbeing aGtivrties and make themselves available to help, support
and build bridges and conneclions with our rx)mmunty.

Youth Club

The rationale was to enable a more meaningful interactK)n with young people and
ensure we coukl provtde more targeted aclivitjes that would help arKI speak into
young peoples lives. This event was moved to Sunday evenings with a focus on
young people with links to the Church, with the aim of growing it gradually as they
invite their friends. This new Youth evenl has proved SU￿ssful and numbers are
growing.
Bear Valley Church
In April 2024, a team of 9 people from Bear Valley Church. again arranged by
Missional Links Wales. visited Ainon. led by their Pastor, Lee Johnson. The aim of the
mission week was for them to support and work alongside the activities of the church
and buikl bridges into our comrnunty. A week of taking school assemblies, practical
building and rna1ntenan￿ wotks in the school and community garden as well as
helping in our Renew Wellbeing outreach and a Youth event all proved so valuable.
The week culminated in a Comedy & Curry NFght. attended by over 110 people.
largely from the local (xjmmunity - it was an amazing evening! It was an incredibly
positive w￿k and another mission week in 2025 was confirmed.
