The National Sikh War m￿onal Trust is activ¢ly preparing detsiled applications for early
submission to erect a ststuc in CentTal London to commcmorate the outstanding brav¢ry and
loyalty of Sikh soldiers in IK)th World Wars. Negotiations to date have engaged with a wide
ratig¢ of senior politicians who have d¢clared th¢mselves as very supportive of this
exemplary proposal.
Detailed n¢gotiations have tsken place to sccure the preferred I￿tion in a prominent and
most suitable site on the great ceremonial rout¢, where indecd Stkh5 rna￿hcd in 1919 to play
their part in celebrating the end of hostilitie5. A very beautiful etching of the monurnent in its
proposed setting has been prepared and is being considered by plann¢rs and will then go
forward to committed supporters.
The charity and its trustees alr confident of fiwther material progress in the near future.
