workshops, conferences and other events to promote early music
and educate the public, with a particular focus on neglected
repertoire which is rarely performed. Our work includes research
into neglected repertoire, including giving modern premieres of
works which have remained unperformed for centuries.
We present music of the early 17th century to early 19th century
on historically appropriate instruments, deliver education work
and family concerts in schools and the community and publish

**during the year**|The 2024/2025 financial year saw Spiritato continue to build its
reputation as one of the UK’s most dynamic Baroque ensembles.
Following previous successful appearances, the ensemble was
invited to return to the prestigious York Early Music Christmas
Festival, where it presented its acclaimed Northern Lights
programme. Drawing on music from the Düben Collection and
featuring works by Krieger, Furchheim, Weichlein, Kirchhoff,
Pachelbel and J.S. Bach, the programme explored the rich
musical traditions of Northern Europe in the seventeenth century
and was warmly received by audiences and critics alike.
In January 2025, Spiritato undertook its most ambitious recording
project to date: the complete concerti grossi of Pietro Castrucci.
This landmark recording project, scheduled for release in autumn
2026, represents a major contribution to the rediscovery of
neglected Baroque repertoire and reflects the ensemble’s
continuing commitment to combining scholarly research with
high-level performance.
The Northern Lights programme was revived again in spring 2025
with a further performance in Kent, allowing the ensemble to bring
this distinctive repertoire to new audiences and continue
developing one of its most successful recent programmes.
Alongside its artistic activity, Spiritato began fundraising initiatives
to support projects planned for the forthcoming financial year.
These include a continuation of the ensemble’s innovative natural
trumpet initiative, Guts and Glory II, alongside a number of other
developing projects and collaborations. Spiritato remains
committed to expanding its artistic reach through ambitious
programming, historically informed performance, and the
