Our work includes research into neglected repertoire, including giving modern premieres of works which have remained unperformed for centuries. Kenny on English Restoration music. It culminated in a concert
performance which was recorded and filmed. Liz Kenny, one of
Europe's leading lutenists, was joined by a cast of world-class
soloists. The project was well received, paving the way for
potential future collaborations.
Throughout the year, Spiritato continued to establish itself as a
leading name in the early music industry, presenting a diverse
range of concerts. These included intimate chamber music
performances and larger-scale choral works, reflecting the
ensemble's versatility and commitment to historically informed
performance.
A significant focus during this period was fundraising for
Spiritato's most ambitious undertaking to date: the world
premiere recording of all Pietro Castrucci's concerti grossi,
scheduled for release in January 2025. This project represents a
major contribution to the Baroque repertoire, highlighting
Spiritato's dedication to uncovering and reviving lesser-known
works with scholarly insight and artistic excellence. To support
this initiative, the ensemble carries forward cash surpluses of
circa £18,000 into the new financial year.
Spiritato remains committed to expanding its reach through
innovative programming, educational outreach, and
collaborations with leading artists and institutions. The ensemble
looks forward to building on the successes of this year and
sharing its passion for Baroque music with wider
audiences in
