worked hard to support our players and
their families through this very difficult
time.
Other than during the second lockdown
in the winter of 2020. we rdn regular
training sessions throughout the year. We
have organised our training sessions in
smaller Efoups than in previous times, to
help keep everyone safe from infection.
We were unable to hold a tournament

Achievements and Performance
SORP relwe
The main achievement of the charity in
2020-21 h&$ been to improve the
confidence and the physical and mental
health of our young players, and to give
them a sense of belonging.
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity's work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.
We have 57 regular players, all aged
between 12 and 16. Ahnost all of them
are fff)m families with low income levels,
and for many farni]ies, their income has
tht)pped subsL3ntially since the start of
the pandemic.
By providing regular football irdining
sessions, including transport, equipment,
football kit and team-building trips free
of charge, we have enabled the young
people to:
Take part in physical exercise
Be a member of a team
Interdcr with t￿￿ted role models
from BAME backgrounds
Develop bonds of friendship with
others from many different
national and ethnic communities
By prnviding deliveries of food and
mediane, supptying tablets (to access
online Se￿Ices) and helping with
electricity. broadband and telephone
bills, we have enabled the young people
and their families ro:
Maintain a healthy diet
Continue to feel part of the club,
even when football training has
been prevented by loekdown
restrictions
Access school lessons and other
services delivered online
Keep in contact with relatives
abroad, to reduce levels of anxiery
and distress at this very worrying
time

from severdl different funders, for
p]anned expenditure on football and

Because we are entirely reliant on
Tesrricted grani funding for our income, it
is extremety difficult for us to build up
any free reserves. We aim to raise funds
in advance, so that we alway5 have a

## **Independent Examiner’s report on the accounts**

## **Report to the trustees of Salaam Football Club Registered Charity number** 1176382 **Accounts year ended 31st August 2021**

The accounts have been prepared on the Receipts and Payments basis.

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and independent examiner**

As the charity’s trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. You consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act, to follow the procedures specified in the General Directions of the Charity Commissioners (under section 145 (5)(b) of the Act) and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

## **Basis of Independent Examiner’s Report**

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is give as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters laid out in the statement below.

## **Independent Examiner’s Report**

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

- (1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements

   - (a) to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Act; and

   - (b) to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Act

have not been met; or

- (2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
