This year Wellcome Church became part of the Congregational Federation, and four members became Trustees of Orsett Churches Centre Trust. Members also attended the Congregational Federation National Assembly in Taunton.
During the year we received a gift of £27,000 from the Congregation Church in Orsett that was closing, they stipulated that the money be used on local mission. We also received 4 years gift aid which at present is designated for helping purchase the building Victory Church (Kosovo) use and rent at present.
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
As a Christian organisation we have worked with others to support people in the community both locally and abroad. Demonstrating our faith in action and by our attitude to others.
We have distributied literature and Christmas cards to the surrounding area, with invitations to attend church evenets.
In Thurrock we have worked with Foodbank, a homeless project, and QVSR Tilbury’s Seaman centre.
Overseas we have continued to support a church in Kosovo with:-
-
Time and finance in the relief of poverty,
-
Access to education,
-
Access to health care and
-
Christian teaching.
Internally we have encouraged people to explore their faith, and it’s outworking in their lives. We share testimony when people recognise God’s interest in their everyday life and that of those they interact with day by day.
We have made use of video conferencing, offering a hybrid approach allowing interaction both from in-person and online attendees. We have been successful in maintaining numbers.

Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity’s trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
-
accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
