Objectives and Activities

Para 1.17 and 1.19	The main activities undertaken for the public benefit during the year were: 12 June 2022: Poetry and Performance reading by Italian poet Francesco Strocchi at Bacareto Café Bar, Cardiff - Collaboration with the University of South Wales, in the form of offering a 4- months placement (01/02/2023- 31/05/2023) for one of their 3rd year film students, George Cookson. George was in charge of our social media communication (Twitter, Instagram and FB) for that period. Three screening/events of Italian Films in collaboration with Chapter Arts Centre and Cinema in Cardiff and Snowcat Cinema in Penarth. La Stagione in Giallo – A series of Book- club Readings and Adaptations Screening: 24/02/2023 Nostalgia (2022) by Mario Martone with an introduction and Q&A at Chapter Arts Cinema Screening: 23/03/2023 Io non ho paura (2003) by Gabriele Salvatores at Penarth Pavillion with an introduction and Q&A. Bookclub: 24/04/2023 La vita bugiarda degli adulti, at Wines and Vines, Cardiff.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.	Para 1.20	Despite some difficulties in this financial year, we managed to organize a number of very successful and well attended cultural events that allowed us to continue to reach a diverse group of both Italian and Welsh communities in Cardiff and the surrounding areas. We have a solid presence in Wales. We keep on raising awareness of the importance of Italian culture and language learning in Wales.
