Membership of KidsNLaw is open to young people aged between 10 and 25 residing in the West Midlands locality. The trustees oversee the day to day running of the organisation. The trustees seek the views of other agencies working with the youth in deciding the activities to be run. There is a child protection and vulnerable adult policy in place. Disclosure checks are carried out prior to trusteeship and checks are carried out again in line with statutory requirements. KidsNLaw has been supported by the Warwickshire Education Authority Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner and Rugby Borough Council. But working in partnership with the schools and local youth organisations have been difficult and time consuming

All trustees give their time voluntarily and received no remuneration or other benefits

Section C Objectives and activities

In planning our activities for the year, we kept in mind the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit at our trustee meetings. The main activities are as follows:

• a programme of youth orientated events and activities. These activities could have benefited young people by developing their self-confidence, legal skills/ understanding, social skills, and life skills and provided opportunities for young people to become better citizens. We welcome all young people, aged between 10 and 25, regardless of Summary of the main personal background, faith, gender or personal circumstances activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)

We are grateful for the many hours trustees, have spent trying to fulfil this objective. Without this valuable contribution of time, energy and expertise we would not have been able to stand
