Thè trustees prèsènt their report and accounts for thè year ended 31 Deeetllbèr 2023, whieh have b&8n preparèd
on 8 receipts and payments basis. The financial statements have been prepared in accord8nce with the
charity's constitution and applicable law.
Structurè, gov•rnaneè and managèmènt
NRT is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation ICIOI with its constitution being dated 15 D￿mber 2017. The
CIO obtained charitable status on 15 December 2017.
Training and instructions are provided for new Iruste8s by means of meetings with the current trustees and the
provisDn of documentation in relation lo resFonsibililies and procedures.
The Trustees are shown on page 1.
Oblectlves, actlvltles, achlevements, performance and publlc beneflt
The objects are. lo advance the understanding andlor treatment of Neurologic81 diseases by making grants to the
UCL Institute of Neurology and, potentialty, to other similarly well established centres for neurological disease
research.
In planning our activities for the year, we have taken into account the Charity Commission's guidance on public
benefit at our trustee rneelings.
Over 4 million people in the UK are Iwing with a neurodegenerative disease. Mole people are likely to die from
neurological disease than frorn Cancer or Heart Disease yel neurological research is currently much less well
funded. NRT'S objective is to provide start-up finance for practical neurological research in less well funded
areas. All NRT costs are personally met by the Trustees which means that 100°A of any donation goes direcdy
into practic81 research.
Achlevements and perfom)ance
The Trustees are delighted that NRT h85 raised £125,250 during the year from donations.
During the year NRT donated £24,000 to The National Brain Appeal.
Financial review
The net income for the year was £101,250 12022". Net expenditure of £31,746) as shown in the receipts and
payments aeeount on page 5.
Al expenses and overheads continue to be met by the Trustees.
Cash is held by NRT lo cover grants made or expected to be made to approved projects. Further projects are
approved as and when the Trustees are confident they will have sufficient funds to sUp￿rt those projects. As at
31 December 2023 cash held was £226,819.
Plans for future periods
Going forward the charity will aim to increase income generation year on year. The trustees look forward to
conb"nuing their support for approved projeets and to startino new projects as funding allows.

The Trustees ol the charrty have committed to pay any administrats.ve expenses incuried personally to
ensure that income generated can be used in full to fund grant awards. At the year end professional fees
of £37512022.. £9401 were due to be paid by the Trustees.
