**restrictions upon social**
**distancing issued by the**
**government at the time.**
**At the beginning of 2021 6 pets**
**the charity had helped in 2020**
**still required ongoing support: 3**
**dogs needed regular walking**
**throughout the year, 1 elderly**
**dog in foster care needed**
**ongoing support with medication**
**and 2 of these pets were**
**rehomed in the frst quarter of**
**the year.**
**In 2021 an additional 30 new pets**
**were assimilated into the**
**services we provide:**
**13 dogs and cats requiring**
**walking or vet/groomer visits**
**8 requiring respite care**
**9 were re-homed**
**This support from our very small**
**team of staf, trustees and**
**volunteers provided invaluable**
**peace of mind to frail and**
**vulnerable members of our local**
**community, who during periods of**
**lock down or self-isolation were**
**increasingly dependent upon**
**their pets for companionship.**
**The charity also responded to 462**
**contacts, almost half of which**
**were from people wanting to**
**rehome a dog or a cat, a quarter**
**of which were wanting help or**
**advice about a pet and the**
**remainder were wanting to**
**volunteer or donate.**
**All who contacted us received a**
**response, either via email or**
**telephone. Particularly for some**
**elderly or isolated members of**
**our community just a friendly**
**voice on the end of a phone**
**ofering guidance, and being**
**prepared to listen, was all that**

Review of the charity’s Para 1.21 The year started with
financial position at the unrestricted funds available of
end of the period just £3,989 and no restricted
funds, but due to a legacy
payment in October of £35,000,
keeping our running costs to an
absolute minimum, accessing Job

doing vet and grooming visits, a
situation which the Trustees were
aware needed addressing going
forward in order that a member
of staff could dedicate more of
their time to the time-consuming
role of attracting, inducting and
introducing new volunteers and
fosterers to poorly and elderly
people needing help with their
pets and refocusing our efforts on
fundraising in general.
