Trustees Report year ending Mar 31[st] 2024 

Our AGM was held on Friday 26[th] April 2024 

A tough year financially but we have managed to maintain our membership to over 350. We had a full season of League and friendly games together with extra County and National games, so well done to all who took part and those that gave up their free time to organise events. 

Financially we made a loss this year of £17,400, all due to the increased rent which we have to pay for the premises. This increased by £39,000 over the year. We managed to offset some of the increase by improving our income by increasing membership and rink fees and adding extra competitions. However there is a further increase in rent for the coming years and although our balance is still healthy at present this is going to reduce considerably unless we can obtain further funding, grants or manage to increase our membership. 

Our Mens ‘A’ team were relegated from the County Division 1 after putting up a great effort to avoid the drop. Our Ladies and Mens ‘B’ teams both did well in their respective Leagues. The whole membership have enjoyed and continue to enjoy their time at the club, taking part in competitions, casual and friendly play and also attending specially arranged social events. 

Sadly during the year we have lost some dear and valued friends. 

We have also gained a number of new members who we hope will enjoy this game of bowls for years to come. 

One Trustee, Barry Stiles stood down after his 3 years in office but did put himself forward for reelection. He was reappointed unopposed at the AGM and will stand for a further 3 years.
