Cally Barrett Wind Turbine Community Fund Annual review 2020/21

The third year of operation of the Charity and this has gone well. We had been to give as grants to local organisations. Following the grant application process, we received 4 applications, 3 of which were successful. We paid out £4153.39 to Cardinham Parish Hall for velux windows and doors, £2226.39 to Cardinham Parish Council for a new defibrillator in Millpool and £4998 to Cardinham ParoWe were left with £220.97 to carry over for next years grants.

Following up on all of the grants given the Parish Hall have purchased the windows and doors the walls are up, they are now waiting for their roofer to come.

The Council have purchased the defib and it is up and in position ready for use. They have a plaque on it which says donated by Cally Barrett Wind Turbine Community Fund.

The School are delighted with their Ipads. The children make good use of them and it has improved IT skills considerably. They have found them a particularly useful tool in engaging children with special educational needs (SEN).

Looking forward to 2019/20 application, we will have a grant ‘pot’ of £6607.43.

Cally Barrett Wind Turbine Community Fund Annual review 2020/21

The second year of operation of the Charity has gone well. We have been able to give money, in the form of grants, to local organisations. Following the grant application process, we received applications, 3 of which were successful. We paid out £2840.14 to Cardinham Parish Hall for continued improvements to the hall which benefits the local community and is also used by the wider area. £1450.49 was granted to Cardinham School for the purchase of books. £2300 was granted to Millpool Methodist Chapel, again a place used by many, not just those who worship there.

Following up on all of the grants given, the Parish Hall are continuing with their extension as per plan.

The Millpool Chapel have updated their flooring and it is now a safer place for all who use it as well as being easier to clean.

Cardinham School are delighted with their books. The children make good use of them. They have found extra books particularly useful in the early days of the pandemic when they were able to send more books home with children to read.

Looking forward to 2021/22 application, we will have a grant ‘pot’ of £6469.51.
