Patient well-being after breast cancer diagnosis and treatment remains an important element of the Charity’s work. The charity supports fitness classes for patients with breast cancer and the patient support group. We continue to maintain a petty cash system at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Breast clinics, which allows us to purchase items for elderly and vulnerable patients such as a taxi home or a surgical support garment. In addition, the charity refurbished the counselling room in the Tunbridge Wells Breast Clinic to make it a more appropriate space to deliver bad news.

This year the charity upgraded the contrast enhanced mammogram (CESM) guided biopsy equipment. This equipment will help timely diagnosis of cancers not diagnosed by standard mammography and reduce the need for patients to travel to London for MRI biopsies.

The charity also funded purchase of a new surgical headlight system at Maidstone hospital which has been hugely beneficial for surgeons whilst operating through small incisions.
