SUMMARY
Malawi Wildlife Trust was registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in 2018.
Its mission is to protect Malawi’s wildlife and safeguard its natural habitats, which will be achieved through two approaches;

Promote for the benefit of the public the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment in Malawi.

Advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment.
This short report outlines developments towards operations for the period of 1/4/20 to 31/3/21
1. Governance
Trustee meetings were held on 22nd June 2020 and 27th January 2021.

2. Building partnerships
MWT maintained communications with the various potential partners identified in 2020. This included Lilongwe Wildlife Trust, Wildlife Action Group, LSPCA, Nyika Vwaza Trust, and WESM. All of these charities are registered in Malawi.
MWT supported Lilongwe Wildlife Trust and WESM to speak to UK partners relating to their work on the Lilongwe Ecological Corridor in conjunction with the Department of National Parks & Wildlife, and the Lilongwe City Council.
3. Finances
Expenses for the reporting period totalled totalled £96 on bank charges (£8 per month).
£5000 was received from the DM Hayhurst Foundation in January 2021.
The closing bank balance for 31 March 2021 was £5,843.01.
