Section D
Achievements and performance
Summary ofthe main
achievements of the charity
during the year
understand, that this was still a very difficult and challenging year
because of continuous effect of previous Pandemic and recent political
instability and Bismil perfonnance of previous and present
governments M,hich resulted great deal of devaluation of dollar and its
effects on general popiilation especially the poor population which are in
majority and it is becoming extremely difficult for them to live day by day
which is becoming increasingTly unaffordable for ordinary person. The
unemployment is on the hi&Jhest level esp¢iially tor the Young educated
pcoplc and th¢ p¢oplL ar¢ still in the phase of the re¢over)w which is
extremely incomplete and partial , but nevertheless, we have continued to
make every effort to help the needy in that area, who are under great deal
of stress and pressure both mentall). as ivell as financially because of the
negative impact of all these factors on their life and the farnilies, which
rnade them extremely difficult to survive in that particular region which
was already affected by the various disasters.in addition, the winter.
extremel). diffjcult for them because of the lack of the facilities. The
general commodities are difficult to get because of the transport problellG
supply problems which are affected by the weather also and the poor
transport structures generally, but most irnportantly no days it is the only
unafTordability by. the g¢n¢ral population on the daily commodilies,
especially the food and the treatment.
Last )'ear I have my'self visited also in that area and distributed the cash
among the needy people. In (Iddition. we have also helped some of the
I"amily to carry out their wedding ceremonies. People are still facing a lot
of flnancial hardship to go with the da)'_to-day expenditures and the
family's expenditures especiallv the schooling and the universitN, fees. We
had tried to help as much as we can according to overall resources in
tenns of financial support.
All the beneficiaries liv¢ in the Muzaffarabad, and Islamabad r¢gion of
Pakistan. In recent times the regions have suffered with regular flooding
and devastating economic effect on the life due to various factors and
continued effects of previous pandernics which ivere already affected so
badly by the previous earthquakes and other disasters.
As a result of the above, M￿1%, individuals ￿]d families have been affected
to survive and maintain a reasonable life in spite having no access to food,
clean water and other basic amenities which ive take for granted.
Th¢ Em¢n welfare charity continu¢s to help several individuals and
families to reduce inalnutrition (good food and clean water) and provide
comfortable clothing suitable for harsher weathers. In addition, aid
recipients have also used the mone!, continue to improve shelter, assist
vith medical costs and to support their children's education.
The aid provided has eased the suffering of many individuals who do not
have the means to work or studi, due to disabilities or a lack of
opportunities in a region that is unstable and has been neglected by the
local government. The aid also has provided help financially some of the
families who have children with the disability with the special needs.
During this period, we have helped so rnany families who are under great
deal of financial stress and pressure which does include the university and
school fees and weddin
ceremonies. 'I'here are

We continue to support them until they are fully qualified from the
University and then become independent member of the society
We have helped so many students and families in lemis ot
cash provisions, for the university and the school fees. previously, In
addilion, because of pandemic, it was not possible to go over there
physically to provide the cash to the families who do not have access to
banks accounts, we have also provided the money to other people who
can in tum given to them, for the daily expenses. Some of the
families were helped with medical bills. The lot of families were also
provided with monei, to buy vehicles, rickshaws {type of cabs) which
provided then] means to earn money on a regular basis for their famil)..
We continue to help the families with financial support to build their
houses. We have also given the money to some of the disabled people
having learning difficulties for the daily routine necessities.
In addition, in 2021-2022 we had also provided around 15 laptops to some
families for the use of their children who are university students.at that
time because of the pandemic we were unable to send the laptops, now
there 15 a easy access, therefore I personall). visited the place with several
laptop's, iPad and mobiles phones . There were few widows with children
who were also in need of money to run their houses. We tried to help
them as much as we could. We have also helped some of the tamily to
build the hous¢s for th¢ r¢asonabl¢ living.
We tried to transfer the money through the bank accounts, but some of the
farnilies do not have an}, bank accoiints, therefore, we provided thern with
cash througFh other means. I have also the local contacts who regularly
infom]s me on any new development work undertaken and also on the
progr¢ss related to charity-with the various tamili¢s.
In addition, Sabeeha Karim also continues to help to collect a lot of
clothes, shoes and other utensils, which were sent thern by treigTht before
and we are hoping that we are going to do the same this year also. We will
continue doing thcse eharit). work in near future.
We are extrernel), saddened with the continuation of this situation for
oiher people over there, and we can und¢rstand the local gFovernrnent does
not have sufficient resources to ease the suftering. We will continue to
help these people, as much as we can according to our owi limited
resources.
I had travelled to that area last month, and to see the progress vf the work
which we have done and tr), to help some of'the family by handing over to
them cash.
l arn hoping to travel agTain to see the progTress of our help next year. In
the report will be included in my next statement.
Althoug,h we have got a ver). limited resources, but we will try to help as
much as we can to some extent and the people do appreciate the help.
