Para 1.20 | The Asian Sports Foundation through continued funding from Sport England have been able to support new groups and individuals to deliver projects aimed at providing opportunities to take part in sport and physical activity. These projects have focused on supporting more women and girls to take part in sport and physical activity and are up and running in London, Bradford, Rotherham, Birmingham, Manchester, Leicester and London. The charity has also refreshed its strategy and is in the process of finalising plans for future growth. |

Para 1.21 | The charity commenced the 2020-21 financial year with £34,878 of funds brought forward from 2019-20, £2,838 being unrestricted and £32,045 being restricted funds. The charity has successfully secured £150,000 of additional funding during the 2020-21 financial period. This funding has been received from the national lottery via Sport England to further support new sporting initiatives and help tackle inequalities. Total expenditure of £77,003 has been incurred during the period, primarily linked to the delivery of the Sport England projects highlighted above. The net income position recorded for the charity during the year was therefore £77,003, resulting in £111,881 of net funds to be carried forward into the 2021-22 financial period. The funding carried forward is committed with the delivery partners to deliver the objectives within the Sport England programme. This is in line with the phasing of the programme. |

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Asian Sports Foundation for the year ended 31 March 2021.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts do not accord with those records; or
-
the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
