The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2015). ## **INCORPORATION** The charitable company was incorporated on 6 December 2017. ## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** LSSP Foundation is dedicated to providing all children and young people with the best possible PE, School Sport and Physical Activity experiences. ## **The objectives of the CIO are:** Helping young people through school and leisure based activities to develop their capabilities so that they may grow to become mature, responsible individuals and members of society who recognise the importance of physical activity ## **Significant activities The main activities of the charity are:** To increase participation and engagement To provide appropriate sport/leisure/education training opportunities - To provide a broad range of engagement activities ta Information, Advice, Guidance - To provide access to appropriate mentoring and counselling Education and training - To act as a resource for education and training for disaffected young people - To generate and support Research projects relating To the impact of increasing physical activity on young people's healthe and well-being. ## **Public benefit** The trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission in exercising their powers or duties. The public benefit of the charity's activities is outlined above. ## **ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE** ## **Charitable activities** The Trustees met four times (October 24/ January 25 / March 25 / June 25) in the year of this report. The main achievements of the CIO during the year were as follows: Core work: Primary School Support: We have engaged 79 Liverpool primary schools. The programmes included: competition & events, learn to cycle; health and well-being; leadership; learn to scoot safely, outdoor & adventurous activities; yoga & mindfulness; fundamental movement skills, personal safety workshops, PE specialist coaching support, continual professional development and conferencing and networking events. Secondary School Support: We have engaged 25 Liverpool secondary schools. The programmes included; competition & events; developing leadership & employability skills, intervention programme; continual professional development and conferencing/networking events. Apprenticeships We continue to work with our training partner - Education and Sporting Futures 13 learners in total 3 x level 2 6 x level 3 4 x level 4 5 of the learners above progressed from last year, 3 are new starters & the others are on 18 month courses Leadership: We delivered leadership opportunities to 209 secondary aged students who engaged with younger pupils through delivering nurture clubs in 7 schools. A further 542 sports leaders were trained to support and offciate at LSSP primary school competitions, events and festivals. 2 ## **REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST AUGUST 2025** Wellbeing Programmes (SAFE): We have engaged 276 'disaffected' secondary aged boys who are at risk of involvement with the police. HAF: We provided one week of holiday activities in October, February, April, June and four weeks in summer. Engaging 288 children aged 5 to 11 years olds in total, with 2,303 attendances. Girls FA School Sport Partnership: we are the key strategic delivery partner for this FA programme in Liverpool. The aim is for girls to have equal access to footballing opportunities. 56% schools completed equal access survey and 33% completed the digital survey The main ongoing challenges are as follows: - Apprenticeship Programme - become our own registered provider - the process has started. - Uncertainty around Government expenditure is producing additional pressure on schools which may impact schools being able to buy our - Acquiring other relevant sources of grant funding - To ensure the Board continues to evolve and Trustees have the right skill set to further develop the work of the Foundation. In addition a new ## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** Financial position The charity's results for the financial year ending 31 August 2025 are set out in the attached financial statements and notes. ## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT** Governing document LSSP Foundation is a charitable incorporation organisation (CIO) governed by its constitution dated 2 December 2017. The CIO was registered with the Charity Commission in England and Wales on 6 December 2017. Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Company are not required to be audited under Part 16 of the 2006 Act and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of your charity's accounts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 ('the 2011 Act'). In carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5) (b) of the 2011 Act. ## **Independent examiner's statement** I have completed my examination. ACCOUNTING POLICIES** ## **Basis of preparing the financial statements** The financial statements of the charitable company, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2015)', Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland' and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. ## **Going concern** The Trustees believe that the CIO's financial statements should be prepared on a going concern basis on the grounds that future funding will be adequate to meet the CIO's needs for a year of at least 12 months from the date of approval of these financial statements. ## **Income** All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement to the funds, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably. Donations are only included in the SoFA when the charity has unconditional entitlement to the resources. ## **Expenditure** Liabilities are recognised as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charity to the expenditure. All expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all costs related to the category. ## **Taxation** The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities. ## **Fund accounting** Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees. Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes. Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the financial statements. ## **2. Archbishop Beck School 781 - All Saints Academy - St Margarets Academy **781** Other School Debtor - **Total recognised fund transfers 781** In addition, it is acknowledged that Archbishop Beck School owes a further £781 which will be transferred to the Charity in due course. This debtor has been included in the prepared accounts and form part of the retained earnings. ## **Going Concern** On reviewing the funds of the LSSP charity and from information provided to us, we believe that the LSSP charity has sufficient funds to meet its current obligations for 18 months and can meet any cessation costs that may arise in the near future from accumulated funds.
