**Objects:** 3. ObjectsThe objects of the CIO are for the public benefit to relieve the needs primarily of people who are in need as a result of being refugees or seeking asylum and their dependants primarily (but not limited to) those living (temporarily or permanently) in Lewes and District and the surrounding area, and secondarily of people who are in need as a result of their irregular or insecure immigration status and to advance education and/or training for such people in particular by (but not limited to) the following means: 3.1 raising public awareness about issues concerning refugees and those seekin1 asylum;3.2 providing support;3.3 providing practical assistance, and3.4 liaising with other organisations that can help fulfil such purposes.Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for purposes which are not charitable.

**Activities:** Promotes the welfare of refugees and asylum seekers in and beyond the Lewes District by:raising awareness;providing practical help to refugees and asylum seekers, and advocating to improve the human rights of this group.
