Great Missenden Baptist Church: Annual Report 2024 The trustees have pleasure in presenting their report and financial statements for the year ending 31st December 2024. The trustees believe that the financial statements compty wth current statutory requirements and the harity's governing documents. There have been no charqes in our secietary, treasurer and property rnanager roles. hurth Athltles and Outreach: Mld-week Blble studies: The Wednesday morning group has been running for many years. Afternoon Tea and Games: This provides opportunities to sixialise oyef playiwd a variety of different games and enjoying tea. Sandwiches and cakes together. Toddler Group: This group contlnues to thrlve. Thls Is run by a C¢Jnmlttee comprlsing parents and one Church member. Additional members provide practical support at Èath session. Ad-hoc films- Evening films and all age afternn films, duiing school holidays, are open for all people to attend. No charge is made but donations are welcomed. Harvest: In October we joined with another local church and supported a kKal food bank. One Can Trust, wtth donations of dry and non-perhab1e prOvrOns. In November we joined the village festivities by opening the church and inviting people to come into the church to make a Christmas table decorabon. look at a variety of nativity 5cene5 that were displayed, watch a video that was playing. or simply to provide shelter rf the weather was inclement. Christmas: In December we were part of an ecumenical carol service, p?ining with 5evefal IfKal chuhe5, where a local charity. The Thomas Ball Children's Cancer Fund, was supported wrth monetary donations. We were a150 able to invite people to our own Christmas puppet show, and a Carol service that played various audio-visual carols as well as some that the con£re£ation ioined io sing.
Table tennis.- This group, open to all a8e5, is well-5UPPOrted wrth regular attendance from a number of people from the extended communrty. Fund-raising: In March we held a filrn evening with donations collected in aid of Christian Aid. Every three or four months we hold a breakfast and invite a Christian representative of a local organisatlon, or fundraiser, to speak. Funds raised are donated to the Organisati(s. Once each month there is a village maTket Jnd on these days. after the church Service, the congregation gather on the driveway offering free refreshments, a craft activity rfthe weather is suÉtable. or a game of "Buckets of essings" whereby ping-pong balls are drawn and a responding gift is given to anyone who wishes to participate. Bulldlngs & Fadlltle5: The flat in Great Mi55enden Hlgh street has been occupied slnce March 2024. Some major repairs had to be carried out in the church due to damage oused by masonry bees. Mission; We rontinue to support 8MS, Home mission.and a local foodbank charity One CanTrust from church funds, and BMS and other charitable projects from appeals and individual donations. We also sUPPOrt these and other organisation5 in prayer. Membershlp In May the church were dellghted when Nicki was able to perforrn her first baptism and the candidate, Laura, was welcomed into membership in September 2024. Fundln8 Our fund5 derive mainly from tithes, collections, bequèsts, property rental and contributions for the use of ¢hur¢h premises. The trustees consider the financial position of the Charity to be 5at15factQryi and that sufficient and appropriate reserves are held to safeguard the future operation$ of the Charity.
