Annual Report 2023
The tru5tee5 have pleasure in presenting their report and financial statements for the year ending 31st December
2023. The trustees believe that the financial statements comply with cuffent ststutory requirements and the
Charl￿S governing documents.
Chailty Objeciives
111 The advancement of the Christian faith in accordance with the Baptist Uni¢)n of Great Britsin, primarily, but
not exclusively, within Great Missenden and the surrounding neighbourhood; and
121 Such other charitable purposes. as decided in the Church rneeti￿ to furthèr the work of the Church.
It does this for the public benefit by means of its main athities, open to all. which are as follows:

Park College in Oxford.
There have been no changes in our secretary. treasurer and property manager role5.
Church Actlvliles and <￿treaCh.
Mld-week Blble studies: The Wednesday morning group has been running for many years.
Afternoon Tea and Games.. This provide5 OPPOrtunitie5 to socialise over playing a variety of different games and
enjoying tea, sandwches and cakes together.
Toddler Group.. Thi5 group continue5 to thrive. This 15 run by a committee cornprisirwa parents and one church
member. Additional rnembers provide prartical support at each se55￿ft.
Monday Meal.. This is a social group for all ages and families to help combat loneliness and isolation in a safe
ènvironmen¢ through 5harin8 a meal togethe¥.
King Charles111 coronation.. We held a street party in our driveway to celebrate and invited folk passing by to join
US. 5harin8 sandwiche5. quithe. cakes and rnuch more.
Ha￿eSt- In October we supported Operation Agri. vthich assists small communities globally with agricultural
training and aid to become self-supporting. with our monetsry collection. We also supw)rted a local food bank,
One Can Trust, with donations of dry and non-pefishable provisions.
In November we joined the village festivities by opening the church and invrting people to corne into the church
to make a Christmas table decoration, look at a variety of nativity scenes that were displayed, watch a video that
was playing, or simply to provide shelter if the weather was inclernent.

Christmas: In December we were able to invite people to our Christmas puppet show. and a Carol se￿iCe that
played various aUdi￿vISUal carols as well a5 some that the congregation joined to sing.
Table tennis.. This group, open to all ages, is well-supported wilh regular attendance from a number of people
from the extended community.
Fund-raising: In March we held a film evenire with donations collected in aid of Christian Aid.
Every three or four months we hold a breakfast and invite a christian repre5entstive of a local organisation, or
fundroi5er, to Speak. Funds raised are donated to the organisations.
Once each month there is a village market and on these day5. after the church service. the congregation gather on
the driveway offering free refreshments. a craft activity if the weather is suitsble. or a game of °Buckets of
Blessings. whereby ping-pong balls are drawn and a respondtng gift is given to anyone who wishes to participate.
We ceased running Family Fun as there was a decrease in numbers, but will be equipped to begin again when
circumstances change.
Bulldlngs & Fadlltles:
The flat in Great Missenden High Street became vacant in October 2023. Repairs neèded to ￿ carrled out and the
flat was ready for marketing in the beginning of 2024.
Mlsslon..
We continue to support BMS, Home Mlsslon, and a local ftY>dbank charity One Can Trust from church funds, and
8MS and other charitable projects from appeals and individual donations. We also support these and other
organisations In prayer.
Memb•rshlp
In June the membershlp voted to remove from membership some who had not been attending the church for a
number of years. mainly due to moving away. It was a dffKult decision but without addressing the situation it
could damage the church ifquorum was never met in meetin8S todecide Important Matters. In November one of
our members, Peter Salmon. sadly died.

C￿r funds derlve mainly fr1￿￿ tithe$. colleetions, bequests. property rentsl and contributions for the use of church
premises. The trustees consider the financial position of the Charity to be satisfactory, and that sufficient and
appropriate reserves are held to safeguard the future operati(￿5 of the Charity.

Great Mlssenden Baptlst Church Is situated in the heart of the Chiltern vbllage of Great Mi￿enden,
Buckinghamshire. It falls under the aegis of the Baptist Union of Great Britsin, and within that the Central Baptist
Association.
As of April 2018 this church became a CIO, ch*lty number 1176012.
