## **Objects** 

To provide transport facilities for the residents of Buntingford and the surrounding area  for people who have special need of such facilities because they are elderly, poor or disabled, people with young children or those living in isolated areas where there are no adequate public transport facilities. 

**The Charity was formed on the 21[st] November 2017 and began service on the 26[th] March 2018.** 

## **Overview of the Year** 

During the year BCAT had the use of one vehicle operating on a S19 Permit, issued by the Department for Transport. 

The service takes in the villages of Cottered, Throcking, Buckland, Chipping, Wyddial, Great Hormead, Hare Street, Westmill and Aspenden. 

From the 23[rd] March 2020 a national lockdown was imposed by the Government due to the COVID 19 pandemic. There were periods during the year when less restrictions were in place but it was not possible to achieve social distancing on the vehicle and the charity was therefore unable to provide a service. This was exacerbated by the fact that a significant number of users were in the vulnerable category. This scenario continued throughout the year. 

During the year significant S106 developer contributions were received, these funds have been held over towards the running of the service for the next five years. 

The service is based at the Seth Ward Community Centre, Luynes Rise, Buntingford, SG9 9SG.
