In conjunction with the**<br>**Desford Tapestry Group they have**<br>**been instrumental in skilled stitching**<br>**oftheTapestry–ahistoricalimageof life**<br>**within the Parish of Desford. We have**<br>**also agreed to be the base for the**<br>**finished tapestry when it is not being**<br>**shown in other venues throughout**<br>**the Parish and beyond.**<br>•<br>**We have regular liaisons with the**<br>**Primary and Secondary schools**<br>**within the area. We are presently**<br>**workingwiththeSecondarySchool**<br>**on a mosaic project. Artwork from**<br>**each of the schools is regularly**<br>**displayed within the library**<br>•<br>**The library has been used as thebase**<br>**for the newly created Heritage Walks.**<br>**We were instrumental in gaining**<br>**grant support to enable 16 Heritage**<br>**Boards to be sited around**<br>**DesfordVillage.Weactedasthebase for**<br>**the successful 2-day Heritage**<br>**Festival that received over 10,000**<br>**visitors**<br>•<br>**Thelibrarywasthebaseforthe**|





**successful Scarecrow Festival held over3-daysonAugustBankHoliday.** • **The library is the base for the NeighbourhoodPlanWorkingGroup who are now working on a review of the made Neighbourhood Plan. We will facilitate the public viewing and consultation of the Plan Review** • **During the year the library has been usedby2localBookClubs.Although recently one of these clubs meets ina private house** • **Thelibrarywasusedforthebook launch for Caroline Wessel titled “Beaumanor War and Peace”** • **The library is the base for the Desford Parish Council, enabling residentstohavedirectaccessto their local Council** • **Thelibrarykeepsavillagediaryand acts as a noticeboard for local activities**
