|Summary ofthe main
achievements
ofthe charity
during the year|||With the easing ofrestrictions
imposed
by the pandemic
the Club was
able to reintroduce
two of its major outdoor events
being Music in the
Park and the Guildford
Fireworks
Fiesta. These two events produced a|
||||nett income of639,000for the Club thus increasing
the level offunding|
||||available
to support the worthy causes.|
||||On-line fundraising
activities, donations,
members
contributions
added to|
||||the overall income which was substantially
up on the previous year.|
||||From this income the club was able to cover the cost ofthe events,|
||||manage
its affairs and provide F35,513support to local individuals
in|
||||need ofhelp plus local charities snd international
appeals through the|
||||Lions Clubs Foundation.|
||||Major beneficiaries
ofour support
during the year included foodbanks,|
||||Sea Cadets Guildford
Action and Cherry Trees.|
||||In addition to the above expenditure
sufficient funds were retained to|
||||provide the next financial year with a working
balance to ensure our|
||||normal activities are able to continue.
In particular
the Club retains the|
||||financial strength
to enable major fundraising
activities to be undertaken.|
||||The Club also promoted
and supported
the Lions Message
in a Bottle|
||||scheme through
various
local surgeries
and other organisations.|
