## **THE GREAT MISSION**

## **TRUSTEES' REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 1ST APRIL 2022**

## **INTRODUCTION:**

As detailed below, we have held dozens of events throughout the year 2022 that have included conferences, crusades, encounters, church services, regional tours, and online training. These have been attended by groups from a few dozen to thousands depending upon the occasion and location.

The main emphasis of all our events is to minister so that both believers and not-yet-believers hear the gospel of grace and experience the power of God’s Spirit. In this light, multitudes have been transformed.

Coming out of a period where travel was seriously inhibited, our focus was to return to holding large gatherings whilst keeping up on our online initiatives. These have been well received and produced good results.

This report is divided into three sections:

1. Report

2. Report on Project 196 (mentoring network)

These operatives are trained through our online sessions and then hold one evangelistic event per month. Some of them also receive our monthly sponsorship. Currently have 18 evangelists in the project in the following nations:

- Brazil

- USA

- Peru

- Kenya

- Zambia

- Uganda

- Pakistan

- India

- Dubai

- Bangladesh

- Nepal

- Colombia

## **3. NEW INITIATIVES:**

## **MENTORSHIP LAUNCH: The Elevated Life:**

At the beginning of the year, we launched an online mentoring course called “The Elevated Life”. The purpose of this course was to help believers to experience the life that is available to them through Christ Jesus.

The modules focussed on:

- Definition – defining who you really are

- Direction – discovering your purpose in life

- · Development – developing your gifts and abilities

The course lasted for 12 weeks and included online video modules, a weekly live mentorship session with Giles, and various reading materials and response forms.

## **BOOK LAUNCH: The Worship Service was Wonderful**

Giles launched his new book specifically written to pastors and leaders to help them put on the best service in town each Sunday. Dealing with practical and spiritual aspects, the book breaks down the different components of a Sunday service (from praise and worship to preaching and offerings) and gives in-depth insight to leaders as to how to best minister at these times.

## **THE GREAT MISSION INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT ON THE ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST DECEMBER 2021**

Report to the trustees/ members of The Great Mission on the accounts for the year ended 1st April 2022.

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

- examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,

- to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act, and

- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

## **Basis of independent examiner’s statement**

My examination was carried out in accordance with general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention

1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements:

- to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; and

- to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act

have not been met; or

2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
