has enabled sailors ofw* dl¥erse needs. ages. and backgr￿ThIs to enjoy and leam frorn the
unique BOLEH experience.
The Trust wlshe5 to pay tribute to all those who have helped with this year's success: firstty. the
Skippers and Mates who have excelled themsel￿5. abmays receiwn8 enthusiasti4 positive feedbad(
for their professionalivn and passion for their dedication. tirne and effort: and secondly. to our
committed volunteers who work so tirelessjy. I￿r fvnd.raiser5. our maintena)ce team and our manv
5UPPOrters behind tt* scenes. all of whom contributed to 801EFfs thrivir8 sailing programme.
The statistlcs: This ￿aT 80LEH has been'at sea. for a total of 125 d¥￿, a sli8ht increase on 2023. but
stawng close to the optimum level of attl￿tr. she took groups to sea on 103 of these dtys. 22
further days were devoted to uew trainin& or to transots from one location to another. Volunteers
provided skippers on 86 da￿, a slight in(yease on 2023. BOiEH prowded 298 se￿3￿5 for yOLtng
people under 25 and 192 5e&days for adul￿ 8OLETrfs a&so(iatyon with the Royal NawKs Recovery
Pathway has come to an end. followlng the decision to cease reo)very day-sails, tyJt the Trust plans
to build on its experients of rehabilttstion with other Service units. A new departure this year was
represented by BOLEH'S attendan￿ èt the South•npton F￿at Show: this brought in new donation5
and enables the Trust to make contact with numerous p)tentkl wlunteer& 2025 will represent
the 75th anniversary of 80LEH's successful initial w)yage: plans for Celebrati￿ this opportunity are
currently in hand.
The Trust is also hugety erateful to ourfvnder5 whose financial support makes it possible to mainraln
and promote 8OLEH's growing sailire programme. Durin8 2024 we received Significant donations
from National Hlstoric Ships. the Hedley Foundation. the Royal Naval atMI Royal Marines Charity. the
a￿511 Sailin@ Trust, the Valentine Trust. the Alice Cooper Dean Foundation. the Shlpwrfi8hts
Company. Trinity House. the Swire chariL1￿ Tnst and many individual dono
The Tr¥Jstees continue to focus on strengthenire the IoT¥-term 5ustsina￿'Irty of the Trust To this
end the Trustees are de4elopin8 the Twsys Business Plan. The Trust is now able to offer certain RYA
courses and certifi¢ates. which will enhance the Trusys offer for ￿rtain charitable groups. The Trust
continues to work with the Amed Forces. and is developin8 relatKins with The Rifies Regiment.
These steps will ensure that the Trust is fit for purpose in order to fulfil its core charitable ObjertNe
of usir4 BOLEH to provide ex(fitin8 and Inspiri￿ Saili￿ opportunities for the benefit of ￿Ung
people.

reported Ex￿ndItUre of £74.809 (exduding depredation of £4.8(NJl. Consequentfy, the Trust
realised an operatina deficit of £JP,78. The small dekn in the financial year 6s not of material
concem in the light of the prior year operatin8 surplus of £32.939. and the receipt of a large grant in
January 2025 from the Nuffield Trust lof £30.(KKII. Whilst the Trustees continue to ewore new
fundin8 Opportunities, we have no hesftation In conswjerlng The Boleh Trust a Yiable charlty and
goirg concern.
It is the policy ofthe Charity that unrestritted funds which ha¥e not been desi8nated for specific use
would be maintsined at a I￿1 equivalent to between thretr and six-month's expenditure1£1&38kl.
as a Holding Reserve. The Trustees Co￿•der th* reseyves at this level will ensure that in the event
of a signtficant drop in fundi￿ they will be able to conttnue the tharity's current attiwties whrle
conslderation Is wven to ways in whith additional funds rnay be raised. At year end. the Holding
ReSe￿e dSpped to £15k. but has subsequentty beeTr replentshed followrwa ts Nuffiekl Tfust
donation in January.
