**Constitution** – formalised on 19[th] September 2017. Maximum number of Trustees is 8 of which no more than 3 appointed, 1 ex-officio and at least 3 nominated by the Parish Church Council.
**Objects:** For the benefit of the public to maintain, repair, restore, preserve, improve and enhance the fabric of the church of Keswick St John in the Diocese of Carlisle, its monuments, fixtures, fittings, furniture, stained glass, ornaments and other chattels and its graveyard.
## **Main Achievements of 2021**
Again, the survival of the charity during the latter stages of the Covid-19 pandemic has been our paramount aim. We are delighted that the number of members paying subscriptions has remained steady bringing in nearly £1,300 with Gift-aid claim over 18 months of £461. Our sales of cards in church were severely reduced by lack of footfall in the building and regrettably we were unable to hold any fundraising events during 2021.
Our main achievement was the replacement of the Victorian metal archway on the church path. This was the first request made by the Parochial Church Council and the trustees were pleased to make a grant of £2,500 towards the work. The new arch is a great improvement and adornment of the church entrance.
The trustees were pleased to welcome Mrs Christine White as a nominated trustee but regretfully received the resignation of Mrs Doreen Hodder who has worked hard for the Friends over several years.
The trustees have read the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance and have had regard to this when running the charity.

## **A review of the Charity’s financial position at the year-end:**
In the financial year 1[st] January 2021 to 31[st] December 2021 the Charity had an income of £1,836 and expenditure of £2,538 and currently has a credit balance of £5.388.
There are no funds held by the Charity that are materially in deficit.
