2. Structure, Governance and Management
The charity is governed by its constitution, adopted in accordance with Charity Commission guidance. It operates as a charitable trust.
Trustees are appointed in line with the governing document. Induction is provided through access to Charity Commission guidance such as The Essential Trustee (CC3). The trustees are responsible for the strategic direction and governance of the charity. The day-to-day activities are carried out by the trustees and volunteers, as the charity does not currently employ paid staff.
3. Objectives and Activities
The principal objective of the charity is to promote the advancement of human rights, social, and cultural rights in Turkey and UK
During this reporting period, Centre for Democracy and Peace Research (CDPR) has demonstrated its role as a trusted partner in identifying the needs of the human rights sector and addressing challenges related to social and cultural rights.
CDPR aims to contribute to capacity building for NGOs and CSOs in Turkey and UK by;

Supporting project development and delivery.

Facilitating networking and solidarity between civil society organisations.

Enhancing the visibility of human rights issues through research and dialogue.
These activities serve the public benefit by empowering rights-based organisations, promoting civic engagement, and strengthening democratic values.

CDPR’s primary income sources include grants, donations, and project-specific funding.
Reserves Policy
The trustees aim to maintain a level of reserves sufficient to cover of core operating costs to ensure continuity of services.
The charity remains financially stable and continues to operate in accordance with its objectives and budget.
5. Plans for the Future
Looking ahead, the charity intends to:

Expand its work on democratic governance and inclusion.

Develop new partnerships with academic institutions and human rights networks.

Secure funding to broaden its reach and impact.

Continue its work supporting Turkish and British civil society in a challenging geopolitical environment.
