Chairs Report
Has it really been a year since the last AGM, personally I think this was our best year yet with the purchase of a new table saw and a new pedestal drill plus a new scroll saw (yeah).
Our open approach to running our shed has paid off
I would like to thank the trustees and supervisors for their hard work throughout the year. I would also like to wish a swift recovery to Doug and fireman John get well soon we need you back.
Lastly many thanks to Bob Adams for all his help with fund raising, and a very big thank you to our secretary and treasurer John Wilson who without his tireless efforts our shed would not be as it is today.

Secretary Report
After coming out of Covid 19 pandemic and with the associated lockdowns we managed to have had a very good 2022, it started off with us getting a commission from the Crown pub at Sandon to build a large sleigh for the kids to sit on while they were seeing Father Christmas. Around the same time we took delivery of £1900 of hand tools with a grant that was awarded to us from Essex Community Foundation.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bob Adams for all his hard work in managing to get us a number of commissions for the shed from Maldon

3 Planters for Saint Giles Maldon . This took us a number of weeks to complete, ending with an onsite visit to install the planters. Thanks to Bob Scott, Mel for completing this project.

10 Jubilee plaques for Maldon Council. These were to celebrate the Queens jubilee, the council supplied the plaques and we made the stacks.

160 allotment markers for Maldon Council. This project took some time to complete.

2 large floor standing planters for Maldon CVS. This project was started in 2022 which turned out to be a very large project which took some time to complete. Thanks to Bob Scott the planters were well received.

Restored a mangle for lauriston farm. Thanks to Keith who treated the restoration of a very old mangle as a labour of love for Tom who is wheelchair bound. He uses the mangle to strain water out of wool that as been washed to make articles of clothing.

4 Boxes for Bocking cemetery. Derek completed his commission and made four fantastic Oak boxes to be used at burials. Thanks Derek

Essex police Volleyball Team. The commission was for 3 small, one large pirate chests and 20 small crates for a volleyball competition.

There were a number of smaller commissions throughout the year which kept us busy.
The shed also benefited from donation and grants throughout the year, we had a grant from two local councillors, and with this money we purchased the large table saw and extractor. We also had a donation from Invader for a new band saw and scroll saw.
I would also like to give a big thank you to Indaver Rivenhall Ltd for their support of CTCS & their sponsorship of a band & scroll saw to the shed.
In November we had a visit from a very nice person called Alice from the Smith family at Woodhouse farm, she informed me that her brother had passed away and that his wish was to donate the donations from his funeral to the shed. As you can imagine this left me breathless and on behalf of the shed I thanked her and the family for such a generous donation. She indicated that we would not receive the money until January 2023.
The shed membership roughly stayed the same throughout the year with comings and goings at the moment we stand at 30 members.
For a few years now and in partnership with the gardeners we have been talking about installing a compost loo near the shed, Bob Adams managed to obtain a grant for £4,000 to kit start the project. As it happens between the
five organisations that will use the facilities; we have managed to acquire sufficient founding to go ahead with the project.
For me I would like to thank you all for making the shed what it is, the best shed in Essex and for being a great bunch of individuals.

Treasurer Report
We started the year with quite a healthy bank balance of £1,294,55 the first payment out of the account was for our insurance renewal which this year was £428.12 this was an increase on last year as we decided to increase the cover on our newly acquired tools.
We had a steady flow of sales throughout the year this also included commissions from Maldon council and others. Apple day at Cressing Temple was good for us we managed to sell £130 worth of items and I would like to thank all those that came and supported our stall. In all sales for the year was a healthy £2,750.38.
We did very well with donations and grants this year, this is made up of members buying wood from us, grants and members being generous in not taking any change, For the year the total amount of grants and donation was a staggering. £6,896.33, Most of this was from grants for our table top saw and compost loo...
Surprisingly we took £2,018 from a daily session fees, that’s a lot of tea & Coffee.
Our expenditure for the year was roughly the same as last year at £6,677.89.
So we managed to end the year on a high and start the New Year with a bang. We ended the year with £6,791 in the bank.
