Hi
My name is Elaine Griffiths and i am the registered person at Dewi Sant
Over the past year Dewi Sant has continued to strive as an educational provider. We are always to full capacity with a waiting list in place. Due to this factor we decided to expand. Since October half term we are now registered as full time day care. Our hours are 09:10am – 14:45pm.
Throughout the school year all our staff at Dewi Sant works hard with the children, making regular observations and assessments to be able to extend their skills and knowledge and prepare them for school. We have also increased our hours and we now operate for six hours per day,
All staff prepare and are responsible for weekly invitations to play to create new and exciting opportunities for the children to enhance their skills. During these experiences we aim to develop their social skills, numeracy skills and language skills.
We purchase new products and resources on an annual basis to benefit the children on their fun AND Educational learning experiences. We are lucky to be able to do this through the EYPG GRANT and the School standards Grant provided by Early Years.
These grants have also helped towards additional staff and staff training to help further their knowledge of assisting children with their speech and language.
We also invite professionals to our setting for music activities, storytelling, cookery, fitness and animals interactive .. During these visits we invite parents along so they can see what their children are experiencing and learning whilst with us in the setting.
This year we had a lovely day out at Cefn Mably farm with all our children and parents, we had lovely feedback to say how much they enjoyed it and the new experiences their children had from it.
All our team at Dewi Sant are dedicated to professional building and attend regular courses to improve their own skills, so they can deliver and develop the children further and keep up to date with the everchanging aspects of childcare and education. We hold regular staff meetings at the setting to discuss topics such as planning, polices, children in our care and day to day routines, we strive to move the setting forward and improve wherever needed. We have completed all new safeguarding training required by C.I.W.
We are all prepared for the upcoming expansion in January 2026 and looking to extend our numbers and offer more children the opportunity to attend our setting.
