Friends of Dunvant Park Treasurer’s Report April 1[st] 2021 to March 31[st] , 2022
The Friends of Dunvant Park funds are split into two parts – General Unrestricted Funds and separate grants from organizations and specific fund raising. The exact figures are shown on the attached sheet. Due to Covid restrictions our usual activities were curtailed this year. Our members’ subscriptions were £136.00 which is significantly lower than for 2020 to 2021. This is bolstered by the Moto Garage grant of £610 which will go towards the cost of line painting once a quote is received.
We have continued to work with the City and County of Swansea to enhance and improve Dunvant Park in order to increase usage by various groups in the community, protect nature, improve biodiversity and facilities. The areas identified for pollinators last year have now been planted using money from the TESCO Groundwork Grant (£1,166) This fund was also used to purchase fruit trees with the hope that they will improve drainage in the park. A willow- dome, offering a play opportunity for younger children, funded by Cllr Louise Gibbard from her community fund was planted in January 2022. As of April 1st, 2022 a payment for £243.95 for the willow dome is still not cleared.
