Section D Summary of tho maln achlevemerrts of tho charlty durjng the year Achievements and performance The Uvlng Room It is not easy to assess the main achievements but we take clients who are consKler8d ty other agencies to be hard to reath. Typicalty, these have been people who for one reason or another have failed to engage with the authorised agenci8s. Using a gentle approach and now working with a person who has had lived experience, arKI also a short-temi Occupational Therapy student some of our guests have gaineA confidence, realised their abilities and started to engage wilh the authorlties who can move them on- into settled housing and ultlmately employmant both paid and unpaid. Part of the process has seen them become willing to further thelr recovery by accessing, for example, addiiional support at Tuming Polnt, mental health advice from MIND and educatlonal and vocational support at Crisis and Aspire. Following a survey of women who are homeless, with support from the Cty Council's outreach team. we opened a monthly meeting for women only. The frequency was Increased to trWI a month. So far this has been accessed by no more than 3 women at a time, but we hope that by offerlng this Servlce to other voluntary agencies, th8 numbers VAII increase. The Imnter Night Shelier This has been a valuable but sadly necessary experience for guests who ware rough sleeplng and would otherwlse havè been out on the streets in the coldest months. Th8 domiitory accommodatlon Is not suftable for all, but those who did access it, some for almost every night, found tt a safe and vmm enNironment. Approxlmately 40% were hous•d by the end of the season. Some decided to continue their engagement wth OV4NS by Coming to The Living Room TAR Marth 2012
