Heyford Park Youth Group CIO exists to provide a youth club and associated activities to children aged 8-13

Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document

2

The youth group leases a building and provides a youth club facility for children aged 8-13.

The club house provides supervised access to play equipment and activities as well as providing a confidential resource for children wishing to discuss any problems with volunteers. The club house provides an opportunity for social interaction which is vital as many new families continue to move into the redeveloped village.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

The Trustees confirm that as required by the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008, they ‘have due regard’ to the Charity Commission’s public benefit guidance when exercising any relevant power or duty. The guidance is taken into account when reviewing the Trust’s aims and objectives and in panning future activities and approving grants.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

Engagement with the developing community continued to grow. Making ourselves know to local groups encourages new attendance. The different age range is proving popular.

We meet on a Saturday morning. Activities included a competition to design a sign for our building. We obtained a BBQ and hope to hold an open day for parents and children. Children attending live locally but do not necessarily know each other as may attend different schools or clubs. It is very beneficial to them coming together at Youth Group as they are meeting new friends.

We still have three volunteers but are looking for more in order to be able to hold more sessions. We have low running costs fortunately so remain funded for the next year.

Unfortunately COVID-19 halted our sessions during this period.

Section E Financial review

Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves

The bank balance remains sufficient for our needs in the year ahead due to exceptionally low overheads and willing volunteers. We do not have sufficient funds to invest monies as the Trustees are risk adverse in this regards.

Details of any funds materially in deficit
