Achievements and Performance
-
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Museum remained closed throughout the 2021/ 22 reporting period, as directed by the Rolls-Royce Chief Medical Officer. While it has not been possible to undertake activities within the Wing Hangar, the trustees have been actively working with Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust, to ensure the future of the Museum and Hucknall’s place in aviation history.
-
The Museum gained an added focus during the pandemic, as a means of socialisation and support, regularly ‘meeting’ virtually, and gradually beginning to meet again in person. We recognise the value that this brings to our volunteers and potentially the wider community, and will keep this in mind in our plans going forward. We are also relaunching our external visits programme, for our trustees and volunteers to widen social contacts and recruit more volunteers.
-
Our trustees and volunteers continue to plan for the reopening of the Museum, developing our own ideas, but also learning from the experiences of other heritage organisations as they also reopen.
Financial Review
The Museum’s income is currently sourced from donations. Donations can be given via our social media pages. Visitors to the museum are also asked to donate, should they wish to, in lieu of an entrance fee.
Any significant spending is authorised by the trustees, ensuring that it is both relevant to our aims and cost effective. This also ensures that we maintain sufficient reserves for future projects.
The Museum holds charitable status with HMRC, which allows us to benefit from the Gift Aid scheme.
