Achievements and Performance
-
In March 2020, the Museum closed to all visitors and volunteers due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Museum remained closed throughout the 2020/ 21 reporting period, as directed by the Rolls-Royce Chief Medical Officer.
-
The trustees and our volunteers have kept in touch through Zoom remote video calls, making plans for when we are able to reopen, as well as providing an opportunity to virtually socialise and catch up with friends.
-
Our social media streams have remained active, engaging with existing and new supporters and enthusiasts.
-
While it has not been possible to undertake activities in the Wing Hangar, the trustees remain focused on securing the long term future of the Museum in the Hangar. As RollsRoyce develop their plans for the Hucknall site, we continue to advocate for the conservation of the Hangar and Hucknall’s role in aviation history.
Financial Review
The Museum’s income is currently sourced from donations and sales of our calendar. Donations can be given via our social media pages. Visitors to the museum are also asked to donate, should they wish to, in lieu of an entrance fee.
Any significant spending is authorised by the trustees, ensuring that it is both relevant to our aims and cost effective. This also ensures that we maintain sufficient reserves for future projects.
The Museum holds charitable status with HMRC, which allows us to benefit from the Gift Aid scheme.
