Para 1.20 | New members recruited adding to our volunteering pool. Homeless and those in need were fed and helped with food supplies. Lions Club International, to whom we donate annually; regularly helps in disaster relief worldwide. Supplied emergencies information bottles to several local vulnerable and elderly people, which would assist the medical professionals give more rapid treatment. Collected some 2000 used spectacles for recycling .Helped the environment with planting of 20+ trees. Member took part in various marathons and walks adding to our charity funds. Children and carers had a day of joyful relief with a party. Similarly some 1000 senior citizens had an uplifting party held jointly by Lions clubs in the District. Helped Mayor of Redbridge raise funds for her charities.. 210 cataract eye operations in rural India helped restore key family members to full function. Supplied sleeping bags, winter care packs and meals to the homeless in and around London . |
